Public health matters to every Iowan, every day.  From assuring clean water and safe food to promoting prevention and wellness to protecting Iowans from disasters and disease outbreaks, public health is there.  As Iowans move through their day, public health is there keeping them safe and promoting their health.

Since 1900, the average life expectancy for Americans has increased by about 30 years. More than 25 of those years can be attributed to public health initiatives, while medical advances account for fewer than 4 years.  


Every $1 spent on prevention saves $5.60 in health spending. 


Every $1 spent on childhood vaccines save $16.50 in future health care costs.

Advertisement Graphic Requirements:

  • Each advertising organization will be allowed one business card-type graphic. The graphic should include the company name and logo. The graphic will be linked to the advertising organization's website if a web address is provided.  Any graphic that interferes with the operation of the website will be removed.

  • Only electronic copies of the graphic will be accepted. Company ads must be emailed to Kim Novy.

Terms and Conditions:


As a general rule, advertisements should provide goods or services that are directly related to public health. The determination of whether an advertising organization meets this requirement will be made by the IPHA Board of Directors.  


IPHA reserves the right to deny advertisements that are not consistent with, or uphold the mission and vision of IPHA or would in any way threaten the integrity of IPHA.
