Membership in IPHA gives you the opportunity to engage with colleagues around the state. Our standing committees are not only great for networking, but they truly keep the organization going and growing. Committees are member-led, with chair positions rotating every 1-2 years, giving ample opportunity to practice your leadership skills. To join any committee, contact the chair listed below.
The Advocacy Committee ensures IPHA members are aware of current policy issues and are equipped with the relevant public health information to share with legislators. Activities include Speak for Health, IPHA Legislative Forum, Public Health Day on the Hill, and action alerts to members. The Committee meets bi-weekly.

The Communications Committee works with the Executive Director to ensure consistent messaging across all of IPHA’s platform, from web to social media to printed materials. The Committee meets monthly.

The Education & Programs Committee plans professional development programs and trainings of interest to the membership, including IPHA’s 3rd Thursday Lunch & Learn series, one-off webinars, and the IGCPH pre-conference workshop. The Committee meets monthly.

The Finance Committee is chaired by the IPHA Treasurer and works with the Executive Director to set the annual budget, development goals, and conduct an annual audit. The Committee meets monthly.
