Mid-Iowa Health Foundation, a $12mm private foundation, is committed to the health of the people and communities of Greater Des Moines. For only its second lead professional search in its 26-year history, the Board seeks an experienced grantmaker or similarly qualified community leader who will help advance the impact of the Foundation through its vision and philanthropic endeavors.

Characteristics envisioned to be critical in evaluating the candidate pool include the following:

• Previous experience in the field of philanthropyStrategic planning/visionary thinker
• Experience with convening/bringing divergent groups together around a common agenda
• Community planning/health planning experience
• Demonstrated organizational and/or administrative leadership including experience leading a board, financial oversight, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate philanthropic impact
